Lou Imundo and his eight-year-old daughter Sophie of West Carrollton were among the 500 people who attended the 2012 Reds Caravan Sunday. The caravan stopped at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force.
Lou said Sophie brought her autographed baseball along for some new signatures. Reds Announcer Thom Brennamen and general manager Walt Jockety were among the latest additions.
Sophie got to talk with Reds owner Bob Castellini about Rosie Red and the other Reds mascots.
Lou said Sophie has been a Reds fan since she was one or two-years-old. When asked if she plans to be a lifelong Reds fan, Sophie said "I would have to say yes!."
Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco was impressed by the number of people on hand. "Heck of a turnout. I'd say the highlight was just being in this cool place with all of these planes."
Backdrop for the caravan included aircraft from the Korea and Vietnam war eras
General manager Walt Jockety said that most fan questions were about first baseman Joey Votto and second baseman Brandon Phillips. He said fans want to know if the team will resign both men. "We're working on it" he said. "That's the next order of business."
